Stop vacuuming a dog every other day.
Florida heat means your double-coated dog blows coat almost year-round. Our de-shedding treatment removes the dead undercoat that regular brushing can't reach - most owners can't believe how much hair comes off their pet.

What's included
- Pre-bath undercoat rake to loosen dead fur
- Warm bath with de-shedding shampoo & conditioner (10-min lather)
- High-velocity blow-out (this is where the magic happens)
- Final furminator pass to catch what the dryer didn't
- Coat-conditioning finish to reduce next month's shed
Which Tampa dogs need de-shedding most?
Double-coated breeds: golden retrievers, labradors, German shepherds, huskies, Australian shepherds, Bernese mountain dogs, corgis, chow chows, Akitas, and most northern-origin mixes. In Tampa's heat, these breeds shed almost constantly - and the dead undercoat that doesn't get pulled out becomes a heat-trapping layer that's actually bad for them. De-shedding cools them down, reduces hot spots, and stops you from finding fur in your coffee for the next two weeks.
How is this different from a regular bath?
A regular bath cleans the coat. A de-shedding treatment uses a specific shampoo to loosen the undercoat, a high-velocity dryer to blow it out, and a furminator-style tool to catch what's left. The amount of hair removed is genuinely shocking the first time - it's not unusual to fill a 5-gallon bag from a single golden retriever. After the first treatment, regular monthly de-sheds keep it manageable.
Do cats need de-shedding too?
Yes - short-haired Florida cats blow coat in spring and fall, and long-haired cats (Maine coons, ragdolls, Persians) need help year-round. Our cat de-shedding is gentler, uses cat-safe shampoo, and skips the high-velocity dryer for a quieter low-speed dry that most cats actually tolerate well.
Common questions
How often should I book a de-shedding bath?+
For heavy shedders (goldens, huskies, shepherds): monthly. For moderate shedders (labs, retrievers, doodles): every 6-8 weeks. For cats: every 4-6 weeks in shed season, every 8-10 weeks otherwise.
Will it damage my dog's coat?+
No - done properly, it only removes the dead undercoat that should come out anyway. Topcoat and skin are unaffected. Our tools are designed specifically not to cut or strip the protective topcoat.
Is this the same as 'shave my dog'?+
Absolutely not. Shaving a double-coated breed actually destroys the coat's insulation and can permanently damage regrowth. De-shedding removes only what should come out. Please don't ever shave a husky or golden - call us first.
